The Washington Commanders have many question marks heading into the 2023 offseason.
One of the biggest questions is which quarterback will be starting for the team next season.
With the recent hiring of Eric Bieniemy, many have wondered what effect this would have on the situation.
However, a recent source has confirmed to Pro Football Talk that Sam Howell will be the starting QB for 2023.
The #Commanders will stick with their plan start the 2023 season with Sam Howell as QB1.

The reason reportedly comes from Eric Bieniemy’s “positive” feelings about the team’s roster and their young quarterback.
With him only having one start in 2022, the coaching staff is seeing something positive in Howell.
They clearly believe in the young quarterback, who had mixed results while playing in college for the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Despite flaws in his play, they see him as their best choice going into 2023.
While they still have Carson Wentz, the team seems to be ready to move on from their investment in him.
So, this gives the Commanders another potential season with a new starting quarterback.
With so many previous issues at the position, the Commanders hope Howell can be the answer they need when the NFL season begins again.
