Just days after winning the Super Bowl as the offensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs, Eric Bieniemy will be heading to the East Coast to become the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders.

But it will be more than a mere lateral move, as he will reportedly earn more money in Washington than he did in Kansas City, and he will also have a more prominent title.

Bieniemy and the Commanders reportedly agreed to terms on Friday, which will give him the entire offseason to figure out how to turbo-charge an offense that ranked just 20th in total yards and 24th in points scored.

The team has Pro Bowl wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who put up 1,191 yards and five touchdowns this season, but the rest of the roster looks lackluster in terms of offensive potency, and Bieniemy will have to get the most of what the Commanders will have in 2023.

In addition, it looks like they will have a new full-time starter at quarterback, as they went with rookie Sam Howell in Week 18 and appear poised to keep the offense in his hands in 2023.

While in Kansas City, Bieniemy worked his magic with a Chiefs roster that lost Tyreek Hill last offseason, as he got them to still rank tops in points and total yards.

He took over as their offensive coordinator in 2018, the same year Patrick Mahomes became the starter under center, and during that span, they ranked first in total yards three times and first in points scored twice.
