Stephanie Hsu Details the “High Highs” and “Low Lows” of Movie Success

Stephanie Hsu is an award-winning actress in every universe, even if it still feels a bit unreal to her.

The actress recently shared how it feels to navigate stardom and awards season following her acclaimed performance in Everything, Everywhere All At Once, which earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. (See other Oscar nominees here.)

Describing the journey as “a rollercoaster,” Stephanie said there’s been moments of “high highs, low lows.”

“It’s a little dip, now it’s suddenly a freefall. Suddenly Splash Mountain, and you’re wet and you don’t know why,” she exclusively told E! News on Feb. 15 at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival Virtuosos Award event, “It’s been a complete rollercoaster and, but also so beautiful. I really could not have wished to have my first award season with another movie, because I love our movie so much.”

Prior to Everything, Everywhere—which also stars Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis and Ke Huy Quan—Stephanie had television roles on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and The Path. The film marked a milestone for her, as it was her “first studio feature.”
