The 2022-23 NBA season is now halfway over and a few things are clear.

For starters, the Boston Celtics are just as good as they were last season, the Denver Nuggets are finally delivering on their potential, and the Phoenix Suns are a team to seriously watch.

The other thing to know is that the league is filled with some of the best point-makers it has ever seen.

Synergy Basketball compiled a list of the league leaders when it comes to offensive efficiency and the most points scored per possession.

It’s not surprising to see guys like Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat on the list.

But it is somewhat shocking to see Lauri Markkanen of the Utah Jazz lead the NBA as the most efficient offensive player right now.

During his 53 games, Markkanen has scored 24.8 points on 20.5 possessions, giving him a PPP rating of 1.20.

He is ahead of everyone else, including back-to-back MVP Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, with a 1.17 PPP.

Other superstars like Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, Joel Embiid, and Anthony Davis made the list but it’s the young Jazz phenom who leads the way.

Markkanen has had a breakout season that led to his first All-Star selection.

He is producing 24.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists on 51.3%.

Few people expected much from the Jazz this season and the team is still having a lot of difficulties.

But Markkanen has become a household name to all NBA fans and has proven that he’s a talent to pay attention to in the years to come.

He’s leading this team which is very important.

But he’s leading the league as well, which is even more impressive.
