Fast forward and Terry and Rebecca have given many glimpses into their relationship over the years—including navigating a traumatic time when Rebecca learned she had stage 1 breast cancer.
Only a few weeks after receiving her diagnosis, Rebecca shared how Terry reacted when he learned of her medical result.
“My husband has watched me go through a lot, but the look on his face…he looked at me like I was going to die,” she told People in 2020. “He told me it felt like his insides were melting. I said, ‘I need you to be strong for me,’ and he said, ‘Okay’ and hugged me, but I think he needed that hug.”
Rebecca eventually underwent a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. While on the mend, she told the outlet Terry was by her side, noting, “I have to give him his props because he’s been cooking for me, helping me bathe, and just really stepping up.”
Perhaps it makes the good times that much sweeter.
