The Denver Broncos recently hired Sean Payton as their new head coach, which has given them and their fans some hope for next season after a disastrous 2022 campaign.

However, Hall of Fame quarterback and analyst Terry Bradshaw doesn’t seem to be sharing that same optimism.

Bradshaw seemed to throw shade at quarterback Russell Wilson and the huge contract extension Denver gave him shortly after trading for him last offseason.

Wilson didn’t even come close to living up to the value of that contract, as his numbers were down across the board this year.

He completed just 60.5 percent of his passes while throwing just 16 touchdown passes and posting a passer rating of just 84.4, all of which were career-lows.

This came in contrast to his 10-year tenure with the Seattle Seahawks, during which he was usually excellent.

As a result, the Broncos offense was wretched and difficult to watch this season.

They finished last in points scored and put up at least 20 points in just six games.

Surely, injuries were a factor, as wide receiver Tim Patrick missed the entire season and running back Javonte Williams appeared in only four contests.

Payton will bring a resume that includes a Super Bowl championship with Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints in the 2009 season, as well as the experience of making the Saints one of the NFL’s better offenses for much of his tenure with them.

However, if Wilson doesn’t return to form, there won’t be much Payton could do to get Denver back to the playoffs for the first time since 2015.
