PHOENIX — Patrick Mahomes isn’t listening to “Dreams and Nightmares” anytime soon.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback said he usually listens to Meek Mill’s anthem before a game to get himself hyped up, but he’s taking it out of his pregame playlist ahead of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl 57 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Why? Because Meek Mill is a Philly native and huge Eagles fan.
“I usually listen to ‘Dreams and Nightmares,’ but I don’t know if I can l listen to that this week,” Mahomes said during Super Bowl Opening Night. “I’m a big Meek Mill fan, but I’m going to have to throw that music aside at least for this week.”

His teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster, however, doesn’t have a problem listening to a Philly native. Smith-Schuster said he’s going to listen to Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock,” the same song Lil Uzi Vert led the Eagles out of the tunnel with for Philadelphia’s NFC championship game.
“If Philly comes out to that on Sunday that — because that’s their new anthem — I’m going to dance with them,” Smith-Schuster said.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts opted for something a little more soothing. He said Luther Vandross, Frankie Beverly and Anita Baker will be in his pregame rotation.
Receiver A.J. Brown said he’s “actually listening to gospel before a game. Give God the glory for another opportunity.”
