Today is a very special day for the Green Bay Packers.

Although the team is going through a quarterback crisis given the current state of affairs with Aaron Rodgers, many Packers fans are reminiscing today.

12 years ago today, the Packers won the Super Bowl over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Rodgers had a masterful performance, throwing for 304 yards, and three touchdowns, and ended the game with a passer rating of 111.5.

This was the Packers’ last appearance in the Super Bowl, despite making it to the NFC Championship on four separate occasions since.

While the Packers have found continued success in the regular season, the same cannot be said for the postseason, at least in the last 12 years.

Since their Super Bowl victory, the Packers have made it to the playoffs nine times, but haven’t been able to make it back to the title game.

Although today has been celebratory, the looming quarterback dilemma is likely still fresh on the minds of many Packers fans.

Rodgers has not made his decision about returning to the team in 2023, but all reporting has indicated that he is not likely to be back.

Packers fans have been treated to elite quarterback play in the last 30 or so years, considering the long-term play of Rodgers and Brett Favre.

Now, the team will likely have to turn to a different option, with Jordan Love, a rookie, or another free agent that has yet to be named.

Today, however, Packers fans can celebrate something despite the impending Rodgers conundrum.
