After yet another disappointing season, the Dallas Cowboys have made a change to their coaching staff by hiring Brian Schottenheimer as their new offensive coordinator.

Their previous offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore, is now holding that role for the Los Angeles Chargers.

Schottenheimer spent this season with the Cowboys, his first with the team, as a consultant.

Perpetually frustrated Cowboys fans are not exactly excited about his promotion.

This man pointed out how lackluster Schottenheimer’s resume is and urged others to not mistake his experience and activity for actual achievement.

Rumor has it that instead of completely turning the offense over to Schottenheimer, head coach Mike McCarthy will be calling plays next season.

This fan feels like Dallas didn’t even try to replenish its staff with capable people.

These men see trouble on the horizon.

Fox Sports 1 personality Skip Bayless, a well-known Cowboys fan, feels this change could even lead to Mike McCarthy possibly being fired if the team doesn’t improve.

Dallas finished 12-5 in each of the last two seasons, but its playoff performance has left a lot to be desired.

They lost to the San Francisco 49ers both seasons, falling to them in the divisional round this year and the wild-card round in 2021.

For a team that has plenty of talent across its roster, not to mention five Super Bowl championships, falling short like that in the postseason is simply unacceptable.

Perhaps some blame for the Cowboys’ failure in this year’s playoffs should go to owner Jerry Jones, who decided to trade four-time Pro Bowl Amari Cooper last season rather than pay him.

But now, they may end up having a new scapegoat.
