Chiefs’ Kelce to Cincinnati mayor: ‘Know your role and shut your mouth! You jabroni!’

Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval may want to stay off social media for the next few days.

After the Kansas City Chiefs won the AFC Championship, tight end Travis Kelce had a post-game speech to remember in celebration of the win, specifically when he called out Pureval.

“I’ve got some wise words for that Cincinnati mayor,” Kelce told CBS’s Jim Nantz with the AFC trophy in hand. “Know your role and shut your mouth! You jabroni!”

His words were received by thunderous cheers from the Chiefs faithful who remained at Arrowhead Stadium to celebrate their team’s AFC title.

If his speech wasn’t legendary enough already, Kelce then gave his best Beastie Boys impersonation, belting out the lyrics to ‘Fight for Your Right’ on national television.

Why did Kelce single out Pureval you ask?

Well, on Friday, the Cincinnati mayor put out a controversial video where he asked for a paternity test be done to see whether or not Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was actually Patrick Mahomes’ father.

For background, previous to Sunday’s loss, Burrow and the Bengals had a 3-0 record over Mahomes and the Chiefs, including a win in last year’s AFC Championship game.

Safe to say Kelce and the rest of his team were aware of Pureval’s video and had something to say after the win.

The Chiefs got the last laugh, however, as they will now start to prepare for a Super Bowl date with the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 12.
