Lakers’ LeBron James, Anthony Davis ruled out vs. Nets Monday

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without their two superstars when they play the Brooklyn Nets on Monday.

LeBron James (left ankle soreness) and Anthony Davis (right foot stress injury) are both listed as out for the game, the Lakers announced.

Guard Austin Reeves is also out with a left hamstring strain, while Lonnie Walker IV is probable after dealing with left knee tendinitis.

The Lakers (23-27) are coming off an overtime loss to the Boston Celtics after the officials missed a shooting foul by Jayson Tatum on James with the score tied 105-105 at the end of regulation Saturday.

Should James only miss Monday’s game, James is on pace to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record as the NBA’s all-time leading regular-season scorer on Feb. 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Davis has played two games since returning from his foot injury suffered Dec. 16 against the Denver Nuggets.

After Monday’s game, the Lakers play the following night against the New York Knicks as the team continues a five-game road trip.
