The Twilight years were a weird time for Anna Kendrick.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the actress recalled the massive fame that was thrust upon her co-stars following the worldwide success of the cult ’00s vampire film franchise, in which she played Jessica Stanley, friend of Kristen Stewart‘s Bella Swan.
“At that time, I was this satellite figure in those movies,” Kendrick recalled in the Jan. 18 article. “I could still walk down the street totally fine—though some of them did still recognize me from them.”
She said she wasn’t on most fans’ radar because she “wasn’t playing a character that made people fantasize about vampires.”
Kendrick explained, “At the time, it felt like, ‘Oh, these people have become the most famous people on planet Earth, and it’s going to stay this way forever.'”
She doesn’t think that burning obsession lasted long, as she noted, “Then they became the butt of every joke. It’s very funny to me that that’s happening. That’s very wild.”
