Sammy Sosa made his name in the MLB during his time with the Chicago Cubs.
While he won’t make it to the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, fans are hopeful he will make the Cubs Hall of Fame.
However, the journey for him to reach this hallmark won’t be easy.
For starters, there’s a rift between himself and the Cubs.
During the team’s fan convention, Tom Ricketts told a fan there’s no update on bringing back the legendary outfielder.

With him talking about how he sees both sides of the issue with Sosa, it requires a resolution to be met by both sides.
However, fans aren’t happy with the answer, as one fan yells “bring him back” after Ricketts gave his answer.
These fans remember the exciting home run race he had in 1998 against Mark McGwire.
While they were chasing history, it came with plenty of controversy years later.
Sosa had been part of several controversies during his time with the Cubs.
These controversies might be part of the reason behind the Cubs keeping him away from events.
The controversies involving Sosa include him allegedly using steroids, using a corked bat, and walking away from the team during the last game of the season.

While Sosa denies the use of steroids, he has used a corked bat before in a game.
However, his leaving the team during their last game of 2004 might leave a sour taste in the mouth of the Cubs.
If this is the case, Sosa could admit he was wrong for walking out on teammates.
It’s a simple ask if that’s all the Cubs want from him before letting him back into their events.
