The 2023 NFL postseason is underway, and it seems like Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is keeping an eye on the action.

On Saturday, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy made his first career playoff start, and he was impressive.

James took notice, and he paid Purdy a major compliment on Twitter.

Purdy was able to lead the 49ers to a blowout win over the Seattle Seahawks, keeping San Francisco’s Super Bowl hopes alive.

The youngster completed 18 of his 30 passes for 332 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.

On the ground, he added 16 rushing yards and another touchdown.

It was a fantastic performance for him in his postseason debut, and it’ll be fascinating to see how far he can get the 49ers in these playoffs.

Rising To The Occasion

Purdy, who was the last pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, was thrown into the fire this season after fellow 49ers quarterbacks Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo went down with injuries.

The rookie stepped up and was fantastic in the regular season, leading the 49ers to a 5-0 record in his starts.

In those five starts, he completed 68.6 percent of his passes for 1,098 yards, 11 touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Now, his success appears to be carrying over into the playoffs.

San Francisco is three wins away from claiming its first Super Bowl title since the 1994 season.

If Purdy helps the team reach the promised land, he’ll be regarded as a 49ers legend for years to come.

The team will be back in action next weekend in hopes of keeping that dream alive.
