In the New York Giants’ first playoff season since 2016, the improved play of quarterback Daniel Jones has made a big difference.
The former No. 6 overall draft selection has had ups-and-downs in his four NFL seasons.
However, he finally seemed to put it together this year.

He developed into a true dual threat QB, putting up impressive numbers on the ground along with his passing game.
This allowed him to stay more poised in the pocket, which translated to less turnovers throughout the year.
Now, the Giants are entering the playoffs with hopes to catch fire at the right time.
Because of this, Jones earns an automatic “A” for this season.
No, he didn’t put up 5,000 passing yards or throw for over 30 touchdowns.
He didn’t even come close to that.
But Jones is in a situation and at a point in his career where he doesn’t need to feel the pressure to do so.
The Giants were able to win games with him throwing just 150-200 yards, and adding more on the ground.
They did this so long as he didn’t turn the ball over.
Daniel Jones is currently QB7 overall. He has done this with one of the most limited set of pass catchers in the league. 22 combined TDs, 4100 combined yards, and a 15-5 TD-INT ratio.

That is where Jones earns such a high grade.
He came into a situation with a lackluster receiving core that nobody had high expectations for.
However, he was able to keep them on the field and work with controlling field position, rather than allowing turnovers to put more pressure on the defense.
This is an area that he has struggled with during his career, as he worked through infamous fumble troubles in his first couple of seasons.
That improvement alone is enough to warrant a high grade, and is a big reason why the Giants are in the playoffs.
