Fans of the Chicago Cubs were begging the team to go after free agent shortstop Carlos Correa this offseason.

While the team missed out on Correa, they upgraded the shortstop position with Dansby Swanson.

However, the passing on Correa is looking like a wise move for the Cubs.

While the 28-year-old star has batting power and a Gold Glove award, he’s having a hard time finalizing a deal in 2023.

The Cubs stayed away from Correa, who’s in contract talks with his third team over the past month and a half.

After talks with both the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets imploded, he’s taking a pending deal with the Minnesota Twins.

What makes the Cubs wise in avoiding him is the reason behind two teams having second thoughts about him.

These other teams are seeing something in Correa’s physical that’s giving them pause.

While he wants a mega contract, teams are seeing a red flag somewhere in his physical.

Even though fans want the young star, the Cubs saw the risk of offering him a contract.

While Correa is a solid player, there’s something amiss with him.

With people making guesses about what’s wrong with him, the Cubs made their best choice by signing Swanson over Correa.

While some fans might not agree, the Carlos Correa saga is proving the leadership right with their choice.

Each team that doesn’t sign Correa further proves how wise the Cubs were to not sign him.
