Spain-headquartered seafood group Angulas Aguinaga has appointed a former general manager at Bolton Food as its new CEO.
Oscar Vicente Hernandez joins the company following nearly four years as general manager at the Spanish arm of tuna giant Bolton Food.
In a short statement, Angulas Aguinaga said Vicente Hernandez would be charged with “boosting its growth”.
Part of the company’s strategic plan is to grow in the French and Italian markets between now and 2025.
Vicente Hernandez said: “My appointment at Angulas Aguinaga poses a challenge at a professional level that I face with a lot of passion. I am proud to be able to lead the company at this time to promote its growth and expansion hand in hand with the great professionals that are part of it.”
Prior to joining Bolton Food, Vicente Hernandez spent nearly two decades at Unilever, heading up marketing divisions in France. He ended his time at the consumer goods giant as marketing director of its home care division, and was also a member of the board.
Angulas Aguinaga, home to brands including Aguinamar and La Gula del Norte, sold a majority stake in itself to PAI Partners in 2020. The company had been controlled by Spanish private-equity firm Portobello Capital since 2006. PAI acquired its stake from Portobello and the founding family. Portobello and the founding family continue to hold a combined 49.9% stake.
It made several acquisitions the following year including domestic peer Copesco & Sefrisa 2021 and Italian peer Deligusti.
