Carlos Correa hit the MLB free agency market this season as one of the hottest shortstops available.
The former Minnesota Twins star was coming off a great offensive season in 2022.
However, the team let him walk during the free agency period with plenty of teams eying the young star.
But his time as a free agent has been a rotating door of drama.
While fans were expecting teams to go after Correa, it’s been an offseason filled with plot twists with him.
The first came after there was news of a deal with him and the San Francisco Giants.

However, the deal fell apart and saw him striking a deal with the Mets.
But there were problems with his physical, which now puts his deal in jeopardy yet again.
Carlos Correa recap:
12/14: agrees to 13-year, $350M deal with Giants.
12/20: concerns with physical. Deal falls through.
12/21: agrees to 12-year, $315M deal with Mets.
12/25: concerns with physical.

With these issues, Andy Martino is reporting discussions between the Mets and Correa’s people over the contract language following his physical.
There have been lots of ongoing discussions between Mets and Carlos Correa’s camp about Correa’s contract language, a lot of it between lawyers. Situation remains quiet in public, but sides working toward a resolution.

Even if the two sides come to an agreement, it won’t be for the original deal Correa got from the Mets.
With issues coming from his physical, any deal for the star shortstop will have a link to his health.
However, the announcing of this puts Correa in a sticky situation if he tries to sign with another team.
The reason for this is that teams now know part of the reason behind Correa not being with the Giants or Mets currently.
With everyone knowing about some type of health concern regarding Correa, any team will aggressively test his physical capabilities.
