In the second game of the series against New Zealand, Sarfaraz Ahmed, who had been out of the Pakistani Test team for 4 years, finally returned and got his first Test hundred in 8 years.

After an absence of eight years from Pakistan’s Test team, former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed surprised the cricketing world with his batting prowess. After being removed for 86 and 78 in the first two innings of the Test against New Zealand, he was unable to reach the triple-digit mark. However, Sarfaraz ultimately ended the century drought in the second game, accomplishing the feat for the fourth time during the longest game format. Sarfaraz produced an exuberant celebration, punching the ground and the air, as soon as he reached the goal.

A few months ago, it was believed that Sarafraz would never again play for Pakistan. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) underwent a transformation with the entrance of Shahid Afridi as the top selector and Najam Sethi as the chairman. Sarfaraz also made his comeback.

It was Sarfaraz’s responsibility to keep the squad together and lead them to safety after Pakistan fell behind by a score of 5 for 80 runs. The seasoned bowler did more than just stop wickets from falling; he also scored runs quickly enough to keep the hosts’ chances of winning the game alive.

As Sarfaraz finished his century in his home ground, Karachi, supporters exploded across the entire stadium.

Even one of his close relatives who was in the audience appeared to be in tears as they saw the experienced batsman score the coveted triple-digit score in his home ground.

Sarfaraz became the second Pakistani wicketkeeper to reach 6000 runs in international cricket earlier in the game. After a 4-year hiatus, he was back in the team’s Test lineup. In actuality, Sarfaraz was taking part in his debut Test series in Pakistan.

In addition, it should be mentioned that Sarfaraz, who has amassed over 3000 runs in the game’s longest format, leads all wicketkeepers in runs scored.
