The Chicago Cubs have been making some bold moves this offseason to make improvements to their roster.

After signing free agents Dansby Swanson and Jameson Taillon, fans are seeing a Cubs team ready to win.

However, a CBS analyst is making a bold prediction where they see the Cubs landing third baseman Rafael Devers.

Devers, who’s currently with the Boston Red Sox, is in heated contract extension talks.

But with talks stalling in Boston, it’s leading to rumors of a trade.

The stalled talks have this analyst pointing to Chicago as the new home of Devers during these trade rumors.

Matt Snyder Sees Devers In Chicago Before 2023 Trade Deadline

While doing a report on Devers on CBSsports.com, Matt Snyder sees Devers finishing 2023 “with the Cubs and starting 2024 with the Cubs.”

This means he sees the third baseman being traded before the trade deadline in 2023.

Landing him gives the Cubs a third baseman who can make amazing plays on defense.

However, he’s also an amazing left-handed batter that the Cubs can use in their lineup.

At 26-years-old, he has plenty of gas in the tank to shine for the Cubbies and their fanbase.

His career batting average of .283 over his six seasons with the Red Sox shows how he’s dangerous in the lineup.

While the prediction from Snyder is the Cubs getting him before the trade deadline, they need to act before 2022 ends.

With rumors of other MLB teams eying the young third baseman, the Cubs need to act now before someone else nabs him.
