The Philadelphia 76ers have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA over the past 30 days.

And, unsurprisingly, plenty of that has to do with Joel Embiid, arguably the best scoring big man in the Association nowadays.

The Kansas product has been on a roll in December, scoring 35, 39, 38, 53, 31, 34, 28, 22, 44, 35, and 48 points over that span.

Embiid has propelled himself right back into the MVP conversation, but he thinks his recent success is more of a team effort:

“We just know how to play. We just know what to do,” Joel Embiid said of his partnership with Harden. “I think the biggest thing that we’ve gotten better at is the timing. He’s such a good playmaker that he just finds me and sees the plays that not everyone else might see. So, I think the timing has been great and just playing off of each other, and (if) we see something that works, we keep coming back to it.”

The Sixers will also get Tyrese Maxey back on the floor quite soon, so there’s a chance that Embiid’s numbers will take a slight dip as the promising guard looks to get more touches.

Nonetheless, it’s become evident that the Sixers will only go as far as Embiid can get them, especially with Doc Rivers often digging the team into a hole the players aren’t always able to get out of.

Hopefully, Embiid will manage to stay healthy and finish the season as strong as he’s been throughout the past month or so.
