In his first two seasons in the NFL, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson put up big numbers, but he was arguably underrated or even overlooked.

But those days are over, as he is having a monster season, and in doing so, he has helped the Vikings become a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Jefferson currently leads the league in receiving yards with 1,756, and it has put him in some very select company, as he has become only one of 10 players to ever surpass 1,700 receiving yards in a single season.

The impressive thing is that he has played 15 games so far, so he could very well end up threatening or even surpassing Calvin Johnson‘s all-time mark.

Thanks to Jefferson’s fireworks this season, Minnesota is 12-3, and if the Philadelphia Eagles falter a bit before the season ends, it could end up with the best record in the NFC.

Jefferson Has Made Minnesota Into A Force

Although the Louisiana State University product had 1,400 and 1,616 yards, respectively, in his first two pro seasons, the Vikings didn’t make the playoffs, and many didn’t expect a whole lot out of them in 2022.

But Jefferson is having the type of season that Cooper Kupp had for the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, and it could very well send Minnesota to the Super Bowl, a place it hasn’t been to since the 1976 season and the days of Fran Tarkenton.

Jefferson is part of a talented group of wideouts who were taken in the 2020 NFL Draft, which includes CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy and Brandon Aiyuk.

So far, it is looking like he is the best of that crop.
