Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira says the club will offer phenomenon Wilfried Zaha a new contract amid speculation over the winger’s future.
The future of Wilfried Zaha and Crystal Palace’s long-term relationship remains impending after interest has arisen from European giants, Juventus, and FC Barcelona.
Domestic rivals are also interested in the Ivorian’s services, with Chelsea and Arsenal both reportedly keeping tabs on the situation.
The 30-year-old is crossing over into the final period of his career, remaining loyal to ‘his boyhood club ‘the eagles’ since joining back in 2015.
However, with not many years left at the peak of his powers, the motivation to succeed at the highest level still awaits the tricky winger.
Zaha’s contract is set to expire in 2023 and will need to be dealt with one way or the other by Crystal Palace.
But Palace manager Patrick Vieira insisted that the situation will be dealt with, explaining:
“Wilfred knows the position of the football club and the decision is going to be his. When he will be ready, we will listen to what he has to say,” said the Palace boss.
“But everyone knows we want him to stay in our football club. We want to grow with Wilfried as one of our leaders, but the decision has to be his.
“The only focus at the moment is about how he has been training and how he is preparing himself to compete and to help the team to perform.”
