Renowned investigative journalist Romain Molina unravels stunning details about France’s team and the relationship they shared with Karim Benzema.

The startling claims made by the French journalist highlight Karim Benzema’s poor relationship with some of the French players as well as with the French Football Federation.

With his name being on the squad list for France Karim Benzema had failed to make a single appearance for Les Blues in the World Cup as he was sidelined with a thigh injury, the 35-year-old decided to head back to Madrid and recover from the injury.

Despite recovering from the injury successfully Deschamp decided not to call him up for the World Cup final.

The French team failed to win back-to-back world cup titles as they were handed a shocking defeat by the South American giants Argentina who were riding high throughout the tournament.

Molina shared how the 35-year-old was treated by France.

According to Molina, FFP decided to pin the blame on Benzema if anything went wrong for France during the Euro’s 2021. France had bowed out of the tournament in the Round of 16 as Switzerland defeated them on penalties.

“What some people of the French Football Federation said after the Euro 2021: ‘If anything goes wrong, we can blame it on Benzema,’” tweeted Madrid Xtra, citing Molina.

There are claims making rounds that French superstars Antoine Griezmann and Hugo Lloris were pleased with the French striker leaving the French World cup camp in November. They consider France to be their team and they wouldn’t want anyone challenging their leadership here. Benzema presence

Molina also claims that players who publicly supported the veteran striker would be given a slap on the wrist.

The star striker made over 97 appearances for the country in all competitions where he found the back of the net 37 times.

Karim Benzema posts unapologetic message announcing international retirement

Hours after France lost to Argentina over penalties in the FIFA World Cup final one of their best players Karim Benzema decided to end his international career with France.

His Instagram post read (as translated from French):

“I made the effort and mistakes it took to be where I am today, and I’m proud of it! I wrote my story, and ours ends.”

The Real Madrid striker did not thank any of his teammates and coaches instead he said he was proud of everything he has done as it had led him to where he was in his career.

Raphael Varane, Vinicius Junior and Mario Balotelli were some of the prominent sporting personalities who thanked the striker for his service.
