Team USA’s roster keeps getting better and better for the 2023 World Baseball Classic.

Besides their incredible collection of MLB talent when it comes to position players, the pitching staff is starting to take shape.

Earlier today, it was announced that relievers Daniel Bard and Nick Martinez were added to the roster to fortify the bullpen.

Now, two excellent starters are joining the rotation.

With Nathan Eovaldi and Lance Lynn, the rotation looks deeper and stronger.

It already had Logan Webb, Nestor Cortes, Merrill Kelly, Adam Wainwright, and Kyle Freeland.

Eovaldi, a free agent, had a 3.87 ERA in 109.1 innings with the Boston Red Sox in 2022.

He was as good as ever when healthy, but did have some injury issues.

So did Lynn, who pitched 121.2 frames with the Chicago White Sox this past season and posted a 3.99 ERA.

Team USA Is Going For Its Second Win In A Row

Both are very talented veterans who are considered mid-rotation stalwarts on their teams.

Team USA is going for its second WBC title after the one they won in 2017, the last edition of the tournament.

The competition will be fierce, though: the Dominican Republic is stacked, and Japan always send excellent teams.

Other teams such as Puerto Rico, Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, and South Korea should be considered candidates.

Team USA will have an incredible lineup at its disposal: J.T. Realmuto, Will Smith, Paul Goldschmidt, Trea Turner, Trevor Story, Tim Anderson, Nolan Arenado, Mike Trout, Cedric Mullins, Mookie Betts, Kyle Tucker, and others will be available for selection.

Who will be the country that stands above the rest when all is said and done?

Will it be United States?

Will a new champion be crowned?
