Liverpool reportedly have an agreement in principle to sign Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
The Argentina international has impressed at the World Cup, most notably when he scored a fantastic goal to secure an all-important three points in Argentina’s 2-0 win over Mexico.
Fernandez only arrived at Benfica this summer and multiple reports have suggested that he has already reached a pre-agreement with Liverpool just four months into his contract.

The 21-year-old’s impressive performances at the World Cup combined with the 4 and half years left on his deal will mean any fee will likely be a hefty sum.
Fernandez can play both as a defensive midfielder and a number eight, for Argentina he has largely featured at the base of a three-man midfield.
Scouting reports have likened the Benfica man to Thiago as the ex-River Plate man is known for his passing and technical ability.
Liverpool will likely be linked to many more midfielders throughout the January transfer window and the upcoming summer window.
Jude Bellingham is also a man on Jurgen Klopp’s radar but any attempt to sign him will also command a huge fee.
