Los Angeles Rams QB Baker Mayfield is in line to start against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football if John Wolford remains out due to a neck injury, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Mayfield was claimed off waivers after he was released by the Carolina Panthers on Monday. In six starts for the Panthers, he threw for 1,313 yards along with six touchdowns and six interceptions.
The Rams have been struggling with injuries under centre, with everyday starter Matthew Stafford likely done for the season with a neck injury and backup Wolford also dealing with a neck issue suffered in the loss on Sunday against the Seahawks.
Before making a final decision, the reigning Super Bowl champs will test out Wolford and see if he’s ready to return to the field. If he’s not in game shape, coach Sean McVay is leaning toward Mayfield rather than third-string starter Bryce Perkins.
Los Angeles will also be without stars Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp.
The Raiders come into the TNF matchup on a three-game winning streak and expect running back Josh Jacobs to play despite quad and calf injuries. He leads the league in yards from scrimmage, with 1,634.
