United Kingdom’s food industry IT recruitment activity drops 17.3% in November 2022


The UK’s food industry registered a 17.3% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 14.95% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the food industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.32% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the UK’s food industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 94.44% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s food industry in November 2022.

1) Computer and Information Analysts recorded a share of 50% in November 2022, registering a 200% growth over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 16.67% share, a decrease of 76.92% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.11%, registering a 66.67% decline from October 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 11.11%, down 33.33% over the previous month.

Top five food companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 12.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s food industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

Mars posted 10 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a rise of 150% over the previous month, followed by Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 3 jobs and a 75% drop. Ferrero International with 2 IT jobs and Kellogg with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while McCormickInc recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during November 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 83.33%, down by 51.61% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.67% share, registered an increase of 200% compared with the previous month.
