Report: Bills’ Von Miller avoids ACL tear, out indefinitely with knee injury

Buffalo Bills pass-rusher Von Miller has reportedly not torn his ACL but is still being evaluated for other possible structural damage and is out indefinitely after suffering a knee injury on Thursday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Miller was carted off the field in the second quarter of Thursday’s Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions after an offensive lineman fell onto his right leg.

As it currently stands, Miller is listed as being out indefinitely while doctors continue to evaluate the injury after undergoing an MRI on Friday. There is concern that there may be damage to his lateral meniscus.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Miller is set to get surgery on the knee, however, it remains up in the air as to whether he’ll undergo the procedure now or after the season. For now, he’s set to be out for at least a week while weighing options.

Because it’s not an ACL injury it’s possible that he returns later this season and plays in a knee brace, though he likely won’t make that decision for another week or two. The former Super Bowl MVP tore his ACL in his right knee back in 2013.

Miller was signed by the Bills this past offseason on a six-year, $120 million contract after winning the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams last season, his second victory.

So far this season with the Bills he has recorded eight sacks in 11 games for the AFC East leaders.
