NFL Overreactions Week 10: Rodgers and Brady get much needed win
Mackenzie Salmon is back with all the highs and lows from Week 10 around the NFL.
Sports Seriously
White has arrived in Wisconsin with the first tangible snowfall of the season in most parts of the state, and there will be more of it on the field Thursday night in Green Bay.
For the fifth time, the Green Bay Packers will adopt the all-white uniform (jersey and pants), often known as “color rush” jerseys, for the clash with the Tennessee Titans at Lambeau Field.
The Packers have worn the all-white look in the past four times, all during primetime games, and have won three of those games, but this will be the first time the Packers have used the look since 2019. The Packers did wear all green jerseys in Week 6 this season against the Jets, though that was a 1950s-era retro look that came complete with an all-gold helmet.
The official “Color Rush” promotion between the NFL and Nike, which orchestrated Thursday night games in which both teams donned uniforms of singular color, ran from 2015 to 2018. But its discontinuation, which came about when the league and Fox reached a new agreement to air Thursday night games, didn’t dissuade teams from continuing to use their color rush looks as an alternate jersey, with many teams continuing the practice on Thursday night appointments specifically (though not exclusively).
It appears the Titans will wear all-navy to match Green Bay’s monochromatic look.
What’s the Packers’ record in all-whites?
Green Bay wore the all-whites three times on Thursday Night Football:
- On Oct. 20, 2016 in a 26-10 win over the Bears
- Sept. 28, 2017 in a 35-14 win over Chicago
- Nov. 15, 2018 in a 27-24 loss to Seattle
Green Bay wore them again Oct. 14, 2019 on Monday Night Football against the Lions, a 23-22 win that ended on Mason Crosby’s game-winner from 23 yards out as time expired.
