Charles Barkley Unloads On The Nets

The Brooklyn Nets have been a disaster so far this season.

They have a record of 6-9 and have already had to suspend Kyrie Irving for an off-court issue.

Also, they fired their head coach Steve Nash after only seven games.

It seems like the Nets come into each season full of expectations before flopping once the games begin.

That is no different this year as the Nets will be lucky to make the playoffs.

Charles Barkley said how big of a waste these past four years have been for the Nets.

When Kevin Durant and Irving decided to join forces before the 2019 season, it looked as if a superteam was being built in Brooklyn.

Then the Nets traded for James Harden in the 2020-21 season and it became championship or bust for them.

As we all know, they came nowhere close to a championship.

Brooklyn could not get out of the second round partly because Irving and Harden were unavailable for the playoffs.

Wasting Durant’s Prime

Durant has to be regretting his decision to leave the Golden State Warriors for this mess in Brooklyn.

The Nets get more publicity for their off-court issues than their play on the court.

So, when Durant requested a trade before this season it was not a surprise.

But then he rescinded that request and is stuck in Brooklyn for at least the rest of this season.

It would be a surprise if Durant was not playing elsewhere next season.

He is unhappy with the Nets and this front office should just blow the whole roster up.

Barkley is right, this “superteam” created by the Nets has been nothing but a waste.
