The Boston Celtics are showing no signs of an NBA Finals hangover this season, as the team is off to a fantastic start in the 2022-23 campaign.

To make their strong start even more impressive, they’ve done it without the services of key big man Robert Williams.

Williams underwent knee surgery in late September and was ruled out of basketball activities for eight to 12 weeks.

Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla recently offered an update on the center.

“He’s doing good,” Mazzulla said. “He’s in a great spirit, mentally. No timetable has changed as far as where he’s at. But he’s doing a great job with his rehab. He’s on the court doing small stuff but it’s great to see him out there and progressing well.”

It sounds like everything is going to plan for Williams.

With any luck, he’ll be back in action for the Celtics before too long.

A Major Boost

The Celtics already look like one of the best teams in the NBA this season without Williams.

With him, they could become a major problem for the rest of the Eastern Conference (if they aren’t already).

Boston currently has the best record in the NBA at 11-3.

The squad has won seven in a row and is showing no signs of slowing down.

When Williams returns to action, he figures to give the squad a legitimate boost on both ends of the floor.

He’s a double-double threat, as he averaged 10.0 points and 9.6 rebounds per game last season while shooting a very impressive 73.6 percent from the field.

He’s also an elite defender, as he earned All-Defensive Second Team honors last season.

Once he’s able to play this season, it may take him some time to get his footing again, but in due time, he could take Boston to new heights.
