The New York Mets had a memorable season which featured plenty of great moments and trumpet solos whenever Edwin Diaz entered a game at home.
Each time that happened, “Mr. Met,” the iconic mascot of the team would take his trumpet and pretend to mimic the epic solo courtesy of Timmy Trumpet in the Blasterjaxx song, “Narco.”
With the 2022 season officially over, the trumpet that was used by Mr. Met has officially been added to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
On Twitter, Josh Rawitch, the president of the Baseball Hall of Fame, announced the news of the big addition to their time-honored collection.

Trumpet Enters The Hall
As Rawitch said on Twitter, it’s not just balls, bats, gloves, or even plaques at the Hall of Fame.
For the first time in the history of baseball, the Hall of Fame will feature a trumpet.
Whenever Diaz entered a game and the trumpet sounded, Mets fans would be sent into a frenzy, enjoying the epic solo and getting pumped up for Diaz’s entrance into the ballgame.
Diaz converted 32 of 35 save opportunities in 2022, posting a microscopic 1.31 ERA over 61 total appearances and 62 innings pitched.
Now, the trumpet that Mr. Met played as he entered games is being transferred to where it belongs, which is among the best artifacts in the history of our great game.
But when Diaz enters games next season, one would think that Mr. Met would need to find a new trumpet so that he can keep his epic tradition going.
It wouldn’t be the same without the trumpets.
