Nursery Reveal – Living in Yellow

Nursery Reveal – Living in Yellow

Hello friends! Katy here from team LIY! We are expecting our first child any day now….well, as I am writing this my due date was actually yesterday 😅. I guess babies decide when they are ready to make their appearance, huh?! (Cue the spicy food and all of the wise tales to start labor). With that said, I am so excited to show you the nursery for our little guy! Obviously, he won’t be sleeping in here for the first bit of his life, but that nesting instinct is STRONG and I *NEEDED* to have it done before he arrived HA (my poor husband)! My inspiration for this room started without a theme and just a color scheme: light blue, navy, white, and gray (which this sign [LIY15 for 15% off] from Erin captured perfectly). As I started the decorating process, I also started sprinkling in some mountains into the theme! Hint: his name has to do with “out West”! ⛰️ I am so excited with how everything turned out and can’t wait to spend time in here with our sweet babe…💙

Paint colors used: The gray is Valspar “Wheels Up” and the blue is Valspar “Deja Blue”

p.s. I am still needing to purchase and hang blackout curtains, so I will swap out photos once those are up!

My husband and I are also singer/songwriters and met playing music. On his last album he wrote a song called “Bluebird” for his future child. This framed canvas from The Modish Home is usually more dedicated to wedding song lyrics for a Wedding or Anniversary gift, but for our Nursery I wanted to get one of this song! 🐦

I also love this rainbow sign so much! Not only does it have a special meaning to us, but works perfectly for our nursery color scheme. Lots of colors & sizes available! Use code LIY15 to save 15%.

Rug [6’7″ x 9’6″]

I can’t tell y’all the journey I went on to find the perfect rug for this nursery 😂 I am talking HOURS of scrolling, my husband laughing at me, and returns happening. I really had my heart and soul set on this one, but it is out of stock and has been for quite some time. However, the one actually in the room is VERY similar and I think it is so cute and ties the whole room together! I was so excited about it!

Crib // “Welcome To My Crib” sign // Crib Mattress // Crib Sheet // Waterproof Mattress Pad // Similar Navy Pillow

Don’t worry, when little guy is actually sleeping in here all the extras in the crib will be gone! It’s all just for a cute and cozy vibe for now! 🙂

Similar Bookshelf // Wicker Basket // Striped Basket // “I am God’s Masterpiece” sign // Books in collection

This is a special section to me because this bookshelf was mine as a kid and I am so excited to pass it on now to our son! Also, my friend drew the framed mountain art and it is something I will cherish forever! I am using the baskets for toys and extra bedding!
