The Los Angeles Lakers have already dug themselves a deep hole this season, and if they’re going to climb out of it, they’re going to need all the help they can get.

For that reason, fans will be relieved to hear that Dennis Schroder And Thomas Bryant are trending in the right direction as they rehab from their UCL injuries.

Both players will be re-evaluated in less than a week.

To state the obvious, neither player will return before that Nov. 17 evaluation date, so Schroder and Bryant will miss games against the Sacramento Kings on Friday and Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.

However, the Lakers will have several days off after that game against the Nets on Sunday and won’t play again until Nov. 18 against the Detroit Pistons.

Depending on how things go for Schroder and Bryant in the coming days, perhaps they’ll try to suit up for that game against Detroit.

Help On The Way

Lakers fans are certainly hoping that Schroder and Bryant will pump some life into the team upon their returns.

L.A. is just 2-9 on the season going into Friday’s game.

Schroder should give the team a nice boost in the backcourt.

Last season, he averaged 13.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from deep.

As for Bryant, he figures to provide the Lakers with some valuable help in the frontcourt.

He’s only appeared in 37 games since the start of the 2020-21 season due to injury, but he has career averages of 10.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

Moreover, he’s a solid shooter for a center (35.0 percent from deep for his career), and the Lakers definitely need players who can stretch the floor.
