What We’re Actually Wearing for Thanksgiving

Gobble, gobble! The big day is almost here, friends! Whether you’re turkey trotting, snuggling up to watch the Macy’s Parade, or workin’ up a sweat in the kitchen; one thing is certain: we all have to get dressed on Thanksgiving. From leggings and slippers, to dresses and heels – we are covering it all… Here’s a sneak peek at what the LIY Team is *actually* wearing for Thanksgiving! Here’s to a holiday season with full hearts and even fuller stomachs!

Carbs Sweatshirt [size down one, wearing in small] // Leggings [LIYXSPANX for 10% off, size up if in between, wearing in small] // Sneakers [true to size]

Need I say more? Mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, stuffing, corn casserole, pie, if it’s a carb, I’m eating it on the big day. I feel like there is no better way to celebrate such a day than this sweatshirt proudly representing every single thing I’m putting in my mouth. Add in my favorite leggings and I’ll be nap ready before the meal is even over.

Blouse [TTS, wearing in XS Petite for 5’2″] // Jeans [Size down one] // Heels [TTS]

I’m going to be honest, while I love a good sweatshirt and leggings moment for Thanksgiving to snuggle up and eat alllll the things and watch football but, I do love a good dressed up option! This light breezy blouse has an interior cami so it’s not see through, breathable which means I won’t sweat and I love this print! And the jeans…. let’s just say they are that comfortable you won’t even realize you’re wearing denim at the Thanksgiving table! So stretchy which means they’ll grow with you throughout your day of eating and the blouse is flowy enough it will hide your food baby.

Shacket [true to size for oversized fit] // Dress [true to size] // Boots [true to size]

Hi friends! Our little guy should *HOPEFULLY* be here by Thanksgiving (due November 13th), so there’s going to be a lottttt of body changes between now and then. Who knows what things will be feeling like, honestly. I picked out a few Thanksgiving outfit ideas and got y’alls opinion here. However, I love the 90’s vibes of this shacket and it’s great for covering things up a bit postpartum! This dress has been a fav for months now because it’s so comfortable and stretchy and these Target boots have also become an LIY Team and Community top item between the price point and quality! Cheers to cornbread dressing & chocolate pie 🤤

Legging Friendly Sweater [oversized, wearing in a medium] // Jeans [size down one, wearing in 8] // Similar Booties

This. Sweater. Is. GOOD. I immediately texted it to my sister after trying it on, because it’s a must-have in my opinion! Legging friendly. BUT also works with jeans, oversized, fitted at the wrists and turtleneck, so soft, win win win win win! I’ll 100% be going back for more! [I’m typically a medium or large in tops, and wearing this in a medium and it’s oversized!]

Bodysuit [size up one if in between, wearing in a M] // Cardigan [wearing in A-Beige color, size down if in between, wearing in a S] // Similar Jeans [True to size] // Similar Booties[True to size]

Bringing out the animal style to the Thanksgiving table this year[noooo I won’t be serving In-N-Out.. but now that I’m thinking about it…. ] hahaa, turkey will be had, because turkey and taters is where it’s at! More on this look, I’ve been hesitant on trying a bodysuit – but goodness everyone raves about them so I thought let’s give it a go! SOLD. What I love most is the polished look they offer as soon as you snap them up 😉 & I’m quickly understanding the love on these now! They are a great layering option with an open cardigan, but it’s also super cute to rock all by its lonesome self!

Waffle Sweater [size down if in between, wearing Medium but could do a small] // Leggings [TTS, wearing medium] // Boots [TTS]

Within the last few years, Thanksgiving in my family has become VERY casual. We typically wear whatever will allow the most room for mashed potatoes – which calls for leggings, of course! And with leggings, comes an Aerie sweater.. my favorite place to shop for legging-friendly tops that are beyond cozy. Perfect for your after-feast nap! Here’s to a very happy holiday season [and lots of mulled wine]! Cheers!

Button Collar Sweatshirt with Plaid Detail [TTS, wearing in M] // High Rise Skinny Jeans [TTS, wearing in 30P] // Ribbon Earrings // Similar Boots [TTS]

Let’s be real – while I’m cooking, I’m wearing old sweatpants and a t-shirt because that gravy and juicy goodness is going everywhere. BUT – right before my guests arrive, I plan to change into this outfit! What you can’t tell in this picture is that the plaid detail in the collar of the sweatshirt perfectly matches the ribbon earrings, and it makes my heart as happy as my belly is going to be on Thanksgiving Day!
