The youngster grabbed all the headlines as he became Manchester United’s youngest-ever non-English goalscorer in Europe, breaking a record previously set by George Best in 1964.
Bruno Fernandes in an interview spoke about Garnacho’s attitude and how it affected his game time.
“He was good, but he knows that we expect a lot from him. Obviously, he’s still really young, he’s doing really well.”
“He was not at his best at the beginning of the season. On the tour he didn’t have the best attitude that he should have had, and that’s why he didn’t get his chances until now.”
“He’s getting his chances because he’s training better, having a different attitude and deserving his chances.”
Fernandes claims that everyone is happy with Garnacho’s performance as well as the progress he is making.
“He didn’t get his chances before because he was not good enough in training and not good enough mentality-wise.”
“He’s changed that, that’s why he’s getting chances. Everyone is really happy for him and pleased with his goal.”
Now with the Europe League’s group stage action drawing to a close, all eyes will be on the next set of fixtures where Manchester United will take on Aston Villa and Fulham in the Premier League and they will meet Aston Villa again in the third round of the EFL cup. Before going into the winter break, the Premier League giants would want to make the most of these matches.
