The Dallas Mavericks have a chance to make serious noise this year in the Western Conference.
But, they can only go far as Luka Doncic will take them.
Doncic is easily one of the top players in the NBA, and that is due to his elite scoring and playmaking.
His dominance has been on display through the first three games of this season.

Mr. Do-It-All
The last player to put up those numbers in the first three games was Russell Westbrook in 2016-17.
That was the same year Westbrook averaged a triple-double and won league MVP.
Not only is he their go-to scorer, but he also leads them in rebounds and assists per game.
His play to start this season has him on the short list of MVP candidates.
On any given night, Doncic is a triple-double waiting to happen.
So far this season, Doncic is shooting the ball well from the field (50% FG).
But, his three-point shot has yet to come into form (25%).
Despite that, the 23-year-old is averaging 34.7 points per game which would be a career-high.
After losing Jalen Brunson in free agency, it will be interesting to see if Doncic can take on more of a scoring burden for his team.
The Mavericks have a chance to make it back to the Western Conference Finals this year if Doncic can stay healthy.
His usage rate this season might be the highest in the league, but it has to be for Dallas to have success.
