Arsenal is eager to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Arsenal is looking to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer transfer window. The 27-year-old’s contract will run out by the end of the season and with there being no contract extension talks with Lazio, a move away from the Italian giants may be on the cards. Several clubs are monitoring the star as they feel they would be able to lure him away from Lazio.

The gunners are looking to strengthen their midfield hence they are keeping a tab on several players who they can plot a move however, Sergej Milinkovic is at the top of the list, and signing him would be a priority for the English club.

Lazio has slapped a staggering €105m price tag on Arsenal’s target and reports are emerging that the price tag will continue to shoot up in a bid to fend off interest shown towards their talisman Milinkovic.

Arsenal is unfazed about his price tag shooting up as they would be able to shell out €52.5 million for the star and include youngster Albert Sambi Lokanga as a part of the deal. In the transfer race to land the Lazio talisman, Arsenal is at the forefront however plotting a move for the wanted star would not be easy as they would face stiff competition from other European giants.

The Serbian midfielder has netted four goals and has racked up 7 assists in 15 appearances for the third-placed Serie A team.

Guendouzi explains why he left Arsenal

He revealed his relationship with Arteta was not good and he was not happy about the idea of sitting on the bench.

“It’s true that I didn’t have the best relationship with him [Arteta].

“Beyond that, I always tried to work, always gave the maximum of myself in training and in matches. I did play a few games with him, and I did perform well in those games.

“He preferred other players and I respect that decision.

“That’s why, afterward, I also decided to leave because I was still young, I needed playing time to continue to progress. The most important thing when you’re young is to play.” Matteo Guendouzi

On June 20, 2020, following a post-match altercation with Brighton player Neal Maupay, the French international was excluded from Arsenal training and was dropped from the Squad list for the upcoming matches, the reason behind dropping him was “issues with his attitude and general conduct’. After being axed from the squad and with his relationship with Arteta deteriorating, the 23-year-old was left with no choice but to move on.

Guendouzi sealed a loan move to Hertha Berlin later that year and after his loan spell expired he was again on the move, this time he signed with Marseille on a loan deal. Marseille was impressed with his performances therefore they decided to sign him permanently.

Arsenal wants Liverpool star in a shock move

Arsenal is keeping a close watch on Liverpool star Naby Keita who looks set to leave Anfield by the end of the season. The 27-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Jurgen Klopp as midfielders Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson are chosen to start every game ahead of him. This season he has made only one appearance for the club hence the lack of game time has fuelled speculations of a move away from the Premier League giants

The Guinean international’s contract will run out by the end of the season and with there being no news of a contract extension being offered by the club, it is slowly becoming clear that a move away from Anfield could materialize.

According to 90min, several clubs are monitoring the star’s situation including Premier League giants Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal.

The Gunners would look to complete a free transfer for the Liverpool star however plotting a move would not be easy as they would face stiff competition from several other clubs.
