With the New England Patriots looking great because of Bailey Zappe, some think there’s a QB controversy brewing.

However, there is one NFL analyst that’s asking the tough questions of both Patriots’ QBs.

After talking with both Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe, he shared his opinion of the situation.

So who is this analyst, and how do they feel about the current temperature in Foxborough?

Jason McCourty Compares QB Situation To Another QB Pair

While fans are comparing the Jones/Zappe situation to the Bledsoe/Brady situation, Jason McCourty has a different take.

While on Good Morning Football, he compared the situation to that of Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins.

However, that situation ended the same way as the Brady situation did back in 2001.

But, McCourty points out how both Patriots’ QBs are young, just like Griffin and Cousins were during their situation.

He also believes Jones will remain the starting QB, as long as he remains healthy.

While he feels Jones is the man in New England, he also cautions how there’s little room for error with his return.

With Zappe running the offense, the team is looking like a powerhouse on offense.

However, the success of Zappe isn’t enough to win over the starting job currently.

But, if Jones fails, and has multiple games where he commits costly mistakes, the job can easily go to Zappe.

With Zappe winning over the fans and his teammates, it might be hard to say no to the Zappe fever if Jones fails.
