Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers is about to start his seventh season in the league and he has a chip on his shoulder.
He has made no secret of the fact that he is tired of his team not making the Finals.
He has also not been shy about wanting to win MVP for the league.
If he has his way, he may do both in 2022-23.

There are many people, both fans and analysts, who speculate that Embiid could be starting a record season.
More than a few experts predict that he will be in the running for NBA MVP.
Others also think that he and his 76ers could finally reach the NBA Finals.
The big question is this: if both of those things don’t occur, what happens to the 76ers?
Trusting The Process
It is about time that Philadelphia delivers on one of the many promises they’ve given fans.
They have told believers to trust the process for years.
The front office has worked hard during drafts and trade seasons to compile a roster that could deliver a championship to the City of Brotherly Love.
The team – and Embiid – haven’t been in this good a shape in ages.
So, if it doesn’t happen this year then the followers of the team may throw their hands in the air and give up hope.
Embiid knows this – and he wants to win just as much as they do.
It’s rare to see an athlete be so transparent with his feelings and goals.
The man isn’t hiding how much he wants this and he has been putting in the hard work to make it happen.
The road to victory – or disappointment – begins this week as the 76ers’ new season starts.
