The Brooklyn Nets will need to come out of the gate swinging when the new NBA season begins this week.

While they weren’t the worst team in the league last year, they had a very disappointing season and were swept in the opening round of the playoffs (they were the only team to get swept in the postseason, by the way).

Additionally, the summer was very rocky for the Nets, who were barraged with bad press and speculation as Kevin Durant demanded a trade.

People have been very curious to see if the team can come back looking better than ever after all of the drama and disappointment.

They might but they will be lacking two consequential players when 2022-23 tips off.

Both Joe Harris and Seth Curry will not be ready for the opening game Wednesday as they continue to work on their respective rehabs.

These two players aren’t the most valuable for the Nets but they certainly do their parts and help Brooklyn in crucial ways.

However, it sounds like their returns might not be happening soon.

No Harris, No Curry

Both Harris and Curry have been dealing with serious ankle injuries.

Curry had ankle surgery during the offseason and Harris has had two of his own over the last year.

The Nets stressed the fact that neither player has experienced a setback in their rehabilitation, the process following these sorts of surgeries is just long.

That leaves fans of the Nets with some hope that both players will be back in the next few months.

However, some are worried that Harris’ road to recovery will take even longer, as he has been prone to injuries throughout his career and his current rash of them seem to be the worst yet.
