United States’s food industry IT recruitment activity rises 1.8% in September 2022


The US’s food industry registered a 1.8% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 3.87% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the food industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.13% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.27% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s food industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.18% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food industry in September 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 27.34% in September 2022, registering a 3.96% growth over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 22.4% share, an increase of 8.86% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 17.19%, registering a 20.48% decline from August 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 16.93%, up 109.68% over the previous month.

Top five food companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 33.69% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

The J. R. Simplot posted 108 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 35% over the previous month, followed by Rich Products with 46 jobs and a 76.92% growth. Bunge with 39 IT jobs and JBS with 34 jobs, recorded a 21.88% growth and an 88.89% growth, respectively, while Nestle recorded a decline of 25.81% with 23 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.17%, up by 6.12% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 22.14% share, registered an increase of 88.89% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 16.93% share, down 13.33% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 6.77%, recording a month-on-month increase of 13.04%.
