The Los Angeles Chargers have had a sub-par start to their 2022 season.

The team limped to a 2-2 record despite their offseason additions like J.C. Jackson, Kyle Van Noy, Sebastian Joseph-Day, and Khalil Mack.

Despite the wins and losses, quarterback Justin Herbert stands tall in terms of passing yards.

The NFL tweeted that the former Oregon standout leads the league with 1,250 yards through Week 4.

Buffalo Bills play-caller Josh Allen is second with 1,227, while Jared Goff is third at 1,126.

One yard behind him is Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts completes the top five with 1,120 yards.

Aside from leading in passing yards, Herbert is second in pass completions (111), seventh in completion percentage (66.9), and third in touchdown passes (9).

Herbert started his season with 26 completions for 279 yards and three touchdowns versus the division rival Las Vegas Raiders.

He followed that up with 33 completions for 334 yards and three touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs.

In Week 3, Herbert had 25 completions for 297 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Finally, he finished with 27 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns in their win against the Houston Texans.

The Chargers are seventh in total yards with 371.8 per game.

However, their run attack is a concern, averaging a league-worst 64.5 rushing yards per game.

Likewise, they are scoring only 23 points per game, ranking 12th.

Chargers Offensive Line In Shambles

Protecting Herbert is the offensive line’s primary concern.

But they had a hard time doing so after Corey Linsley suffered an injury, and Rashawn Slater is out because of an injury.

When at their best, the Chargers have one of the best aerial attacks in the NFL.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to see that happening if Herbert won’t have enough time to throw.
