The Atlanta Braves are now just one win or a New York Mets loss away from clinching their fifth straight NL East title after sweeping their heated rivals over the weekend.

Much of the Braves’ recent success over the past several years has been thanks to the smart moves made by President of Baseball Operations Alex Anthopolous to try and lock up the team’s core.

They’ve got Michael Harris II and Matt Olson signed through 2030.

They’ve also got Austin Riley locked up through 2032.

The Braves’ core is set for years to come, and it has the defending World Series champions on the precipice of potentially creating a new dynasty.

Continuity In Atlanta

Over the past several years, the Braves have turned themselves into a model franchise.

This is a team with great talent on its roster and even more talent waiting in the wings for future Braves teams.

The Braves have already made some key moves at trade deadlines and in offseasons to build their team to where it is now.

Key moves at the trade deadline in 2021 helped them piece together a World Series championship team.

The emergence of younger stars has helped them in 2022.

The fact that many of them are signed long term should help the Braves stay competitive for years to come.

To list a few more stars who are locked up long term, the Braves have Ronald Acuna Jr. under contract through 2028 and Ozzie Albies and Spencer Strider through 2027.

Continuity has been key for the Braves, and it will continue to be such as long as they remain in postseason contention with their current crop of studs.

Anthopolous knows how to build a winner, and he has done just that.
