Polestar 3 SUV Will Debut on Oct. 12 With 510 HP

We’ve already seen a bunch of teasers for the upcoming Polestar 3 SUV, and now we know when it will debut. The Polestar 3 will be unveiled on October 12 at an event in Copenhagen, Denmark, with the reveal set to be livestreamed online starting at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET.

This announcement of the debut came alongside a new teaser, which shows the rear end of the 3 without any camouflage. Polestar has shown off the 3’s butt before, but this teaser image gives us an even better look at the SUV’s shape. The 3 has a wide stance, a rakish roofline and slim LED taillights, as well as a pass-through roof spoiler and some interesting aero touches in the rear bumper.

The Polestar 3 will ride on the same SPA2 platform as the upcoming Volvo EX90, and it will share the same Nvidia software and Luminar lidar sensors as Volvo’s flagship. At launch, every version of the Polestar 3 will have a dual-motor electric powertrain that features rear-biased all-wheel drive, a dual-clutch torque vectoring system for the rear motor and standard adaptive air suspension. The Polestar 3’s Performance Pack will give it 510 horsepower and 671 pound-feet of torque, as well as specially tuned suspension with gold details.

We’ll know more about the Polestar 3 when it debuts next month. It will be built in South Carolina, making it the first Polestar model to be produced in the US. Expect a starting pricetag of around $70,000 when this Porsche Cayenne-fighting SUV goes on sale in 2023.
