Russell Westbrook of the Los Angeles Lakers hasn’t had a great summer.

Even if he’s spent a lot of quality time with family and friends, relaxing in the sunny southern California climate, he has also dealt with so much uncertainty about his future.

It’s no secret that the Lakers have been looking to trade Westbrook away after his lacking 2021-22 season.

Meanwhile, fans of the team have been very vocal about their disdain for Westbrook and their hopes that he gets traded or waived.

Westbrook has certainly heard the comments about him and he knows he has a lot to prove.

It looks like he is putting in the work to make the new season a comeback one.

There has been talk about the 2022-23 season being Westbrook’s “revenge season”, one in which he plays better than he has in years.

Video from Westbrook in the gym shows a man who is practicing his shot and handles in preparation for the new season next month.

Is this the sort of Westbrook that fans want to see?

Westbrook’s Revenge

Westbrook was averaging 18.5 points 7.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists last season.

Those aren’t horrible numbers on their own but they aren’t great when you compare them to just a few seasons ago when he was reaching nearly 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists a game.

Westbrook’s shot selection has been supremely lacking since coming to Los Angeles.

It was so bad at times that fans of the Lakers were calling on Westbrook to not take some of his shots during games.

Based on the video evidence above, it appears like Westbrook is attempting to repair his shot and become better at getting buckets from all over the court.
