There were a brief few days during the summer when it looked like Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics could possibly be traded to the Brooklyn Nets for Kevin Durant.
Of course, that didn’t pan out and Durant remained in Brooklyn while Brown is staying put in Boston.
Even just the idea of Brown leaving the Celtics for the Nets was a huge deal and got many folks on both sides emotional.
Fans of the Celtics were terrified at the prospect of Brown leaving while Nets fanatics were jazzed by the concept of him coming to Brooklyn.
I’ve been watching a ton of games from last year and beyond and…
I think we’re going to get a lot of reminders this year of why the Nets wanted Jaylen Brown in a KD trade and just as many reminders of why the Celtics weren’t giving Jaylen Brown up.
Big year incoming for JB.

All of this has led to much speculation about Brown’s upcoming season.
NBA insider Keith Smith is expecting huge things from the young guard.
“I’ve been watching a ton of games from last year and beyond and… I think we’re going to get a lot of reminders this year of why the Nets wanted Jaylen Brown in a KD trade and just as many reminders of why the Celtics weren’t giving Jaylen Brown up,” Smith said.
He finished with, “Big year incoming for JB.”
Smith isn’t the only one who thinks that 2022-23 could be a banner year for the man they call JB.
Brown Back In Boston
Brown might not be the biggest superstar on the Celtics roster – that would be Jayson Tatum – but he’s still a true force for the squad.
In 2021-22, Brown produced 23.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.
He repeatedly came in clutch and played marvelously alongside Tatum.
It’s wild to recall the time when some called on Boston to break up their backcourt and ship Brown off to another team.
By the time rumors about Brown moving to Brooklyn emerged in the summer, the entire Boston fanbase was standing firmly behind him.
They don’t want this star going anywhere.
Like Smith, loyal Boston followers know that the best may be yet to come.
