A silly saga has emerged as of late.
With the Los Angeles Dodgers‘ 11-2 win on Sunday over the San Diego Padres, they became the first team to punch their ticket to the postseason in 2022.
But yesterday, MLB randomly decided that because of tiebreaker scenarios, the Dodgers had yet to officially clinch a postseason berth.
Last night, with a 6-0 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, they put any concerns to rest.
This means that the Dodgers have now, for real clinched a spot in the playoffs.
Mookie Betts was asked about the whole saga that took place yesterday and whether or not he paid any attention to it, to which he replied, “Zero.”
Mookie Betts on the attention he paid to the clinch-no clinch-clinch saga today: “Uh, zero.”

Clinch? No Clinch? Betts Stays Focused
Betts is focused on one thing and one thing only, that being clinching the NL West.
The Dodgers have yet to do that, but with their win last night, they dropped their magic number down to one.
Just a win tonight or a Padres loss will assure them of their ninth NL West title in the last 10 years.
But it’s clear that the Dodgers paid no mind to the silly saga that emerged yesterday.
In their minds, and in everybody else’s minds, they had already clinched a postseason berth, and even if they somehow hadn’t, they knew that doing so was just a formality.
But the Dodgers are now, for real, headed to the postseason for the 10th consecutive season.
The saga that came to light yesterday means nothing to them and the same can be said for Betts.
The Dodgers lead the Padres by 20.5 games with 21 to go in the regular season.
The NL West title is right in their grasp now.
