The Indianapolis Colts brought in quarterback Matt Ryan to avoid a disappointing finish to their season.

Last year, the Colts had two opportunities to clinch a postseason berth but lost both games.

Their final game in 2021 was more depressing because they went down against the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars.

That’s why they traded for Ryan, a former league MVP, and First-Team All-Pro member.

He is also a former Offensive Player of the Year and an eight-time Pro Bowler.

They are banking on him to lead the squad to another postseason appearance.

But before the regular season starts, Colts owner Jim Irsay is dialing up the hype for their final preseason game for 2022.

Irsay tweeted, “Starting QBs for Saturday night: Matt Ryan and Tom Brady.”

In that case, the Colts will be facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before they open the season versus the Houston Texans on September 11.

Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times shared, “Tom Brady will start Saturday’s game at Indy, Todd Bowles said. Any player who is healthy will play.”

Meanwhile, Ryan might try a drive before getting pulled out.

Therefore, the hype might not work because Ryan and Brady won’t play the entire game.

Shades Of Super Bowl LI Happening?

It’s hard to forget Super Bowl LI every time Brady and Ryan are mentioned in the same breath.

After all, it featured one of the most iconic comebacks in the game’s history.

Brady and the New England Patriots obliterated a 28-3 cushion built by Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons before winning in overtime.

Will we see a comeback of the same nature happening again?

If it does happen, it wouldn’t have much impact because it happened in the preseason.
